GAME DESIGN ADVANCE is a blog that centers around development, culture, and scholarship as it relates to games and game design. The contributors are students, academics, and professionals working in the New York City area and typically have some connection to NYU’s Interactive Telecommunication’s Department and NYU Game Center. It was founded in 2007.

FRANK LANTZ – Founder
Frank Lantz is the Director of the NYU Game Center and Chair of the Department of Game Design at the Tisch School of the Arts. He has been a professional game designer for over 20 years, creating a number of award-winning games at his studio Area/Code including the popular iPhone game Drop7. Frank’s pioneering work on large-scale real-world and location-based games has been widely influential and his writings on games, aesthetics and culture have appeared in a variety of publications.
